Aye, and today be talk like a pirate day, arrrr!

We celebrated in true piratical fashion this past weekend with The First Annual Lost Boys Dread Pyrat Invitational Fencing Tournament (TFALBDPIFT for short). Tom won, now having the longest title of any of the Lost Boys (Lord Dread Pyrat Captain Captain Kestrel--and yes, the Captain Captain is deliberate, as he has actually in real life gotten his Captain's license, huzzah!)

The biggest surprise to me of the weekend? Seven Leaves (one of our piratical group playmates) driving down from New York to party with us because the ren faire they were at was boring (laugh!) You guys are nuts and we love ya.

I think we're planning on going to the Maryland Ren Faire (ah hell, they drove down from New York, the least we can do is meet them at a semi-local faire!). It's odd for me because I never go to Ren Faires, though with these guys I have no doubt we'll have fun. (It seems to be a lot of what they do.) And hell, who am I to turn down a chance to wear my garb more often?

We did not, alas, spin any fire this weekend. Kirsten had pink eye and wasn't feeling well, and we were going to spin anyway but between a lack of fuel and an abundance of alcohol (fire spinning and alcohol consumption is stupid and against the rules...in the bad way) we decided against it. Something to look forward to soon!

Great fun this weekend, even if I did miss going to Wine & Jazz. And Saturday was halfway to St. Patrick's Day too, for those of you keeping track!

Arrrrr!
