There is nothing to read here. The content is over there, to your right.

I may, however, at some point, put something here. Some day. Eventually. No pressure.

secret admirer

Darwin confession #3:

I receive and read email that is not meant for me. I'm not speaking of every day spam with it's offers of bigger boobs and investment plans; I get email that is addressed to my inbox but is clearly personal correspondance between family. Not my family.

I've been a silent voyeur for going on a year or so, now. I know, I know - I should either email them to tell them (awkward now - "for HOW long??") or set up a filter to refuse the email. I should.

I won't.

If you have read any of Nick Bantock's "Griffin and Sabine" series, you will understand. And my email family is not of such a personal, love affair nature. They speak of love, of course, but it is not eros love. Agape, philios, storge.. the other loves we know are what are evident in their letters.

I don't know their inside jokes and I don't know all of the names they share between each other. I know Mel has been sick, in and out of hospital. I know Sara is a mom and that Thomas has just moved and won't be online for a few weeks. We're all very excited for him, though. The weather in Christchurch has been terrific. England beat the All Blacks in a rugby match. This was not the result we wanted, apparently. Loren went for a wild boat ride on the river and loved every minute.

I look forward to their emails. There is very rarely anything negative said even though the situations are not always ideal.

This is a close family and I feel a bit like a distant cousin. I'm not ready to say goodbye, just yet.
