Arrogant Bastard!

So, I was riding BART to work, reading over my novel (what there is of it so far) and you know what? Damn! I have me some talent, yo! Yup, I can't think of another person who could cram so damn many FINE typos into so few pages of manuscript. That takes talent. I rock!

Seriously, though, I am pretty pleased with my novel. I was the last time I read through it, and I'm glad to see I still feel the same way. I find myself thinking about those of you who have volunteered to crit and/or read it for me and wondering how you'll react to certain bits. I'm sort of afraid The Grammar Goddess is going to have a heyday. But, well, hopefully it will have wide appeal :-)

Tim *is* being sort of an Arrogant Bastard lately, but I'll tell you, I'll take this any day over last week when he got an agent one day, sold a story to TTA the next, and was STILL walking around in a blue funk. Arrogant Tim is much nicer to be around, and he's more affectionate too :-)

So, this week has been pretty decent, even if I'm a bit more emotional than usual. Tuesday we took a walk, though we got fussy and Tim went back early, leaving me to storm around new parts of the neighborhood, stopping to gaze at a view of Lake Merrit as the sun set until I felt better. I came back and Tim had dipped the cats in sulphur all by himself, and if that's not a concilatory gesture, I don't know what is . . .

Last night, grocery shopping after a quick run over to Susan's old place to pick up three hanging plants she didn't want any longer. They look very nice, though I need to find where we packed the plant hooks for two of them, since one of our available hooks is directly over Tim's new computer, and he'd be very angry if it dripped.

Today, I'm not feeling so well. Not as bad as last Sunday, mind you, but I think what I thought were allergies is morphing into a sore throat and a cold. Bleah. I need to drink some OJ, suck some echinachea, soak in a tub of hot water and go to bed. I tried to go to bed early last night only to wake up at 4am stressing about work, the cats, money, the usual. Stupid stress.

Tonight, we watched Angel. Many episodes of Angel. Now we are sitting at our computers. Tim is working on Flytrap. I'm updating and otherwise fiddling around. Marzi is trying to communicate again. Zanzi is in the other room, probably nursing his nubbly cup.

It's kind of nice and cozy, actually.

G'night.
