Man, yesterday was a bad day. I started it by breaking a plastic cup (by accident), mopping up my mess. I also, apparently, was given a regular latte in place of a soy latte at the coffee shop, as I ended up getting really really sick yesterday. I managed to make it through lunch with Sean (who was in town on what I call "Lawyer stuff"), which was fun, even if all I could stomach was miso soup, plain rice and a Sprite.

Apparently, I'm just flat-out allergic to dairy stuff? I dunno. Lactaid pills seem to do nothing for me, and milk makes me really really sick. Gah. I ended my day yesterday at work by taking the magic blue pill which relieves my pain but makes me a real space cadet. I don't like feeling that removed from reality (this is one of the ways I know I'm growing up), especially not at work. I left an hour early.

I have a lot of stuff to get done this week -- both at work and at home -- in preparation for Hidden City. I'm very much looking forward to this vacation/ writing workshop! The last time I had a full week off (not counting the time while I was unemployed, which is anything but restful) was back in 2000! I really need a vacation, man.

I'm gonna miss the cats. They're gonna miss us, too. I'm glad David is willing to come feed them every day, and I hope they get used to him and let him give them some attention. I'm going to worry about them some. The joys of having dependents!

Tim's reading on Sunday went really well, but I'll let him find time to go into it in more detail/ post pictures. We got to see lots of our favorite people and spend some time with Scott and Lynne, whom we just don't see often enough. Yay!

Tim sold to Asimov's, and I'm so proud of him! He's been wanting to crack that market for so long! Go Tim! Whoot!

However, I am starting to feel really itchy for a sale of my own. One story has been at Realms since July, and it's so hard not to get my hopes up. Please let it sell, please?

La. Must get back to work. I'll try to post again before we leave on Saturday.
