Weekend

Had a really lovely weekend. Friday we went out to eat at Barney's, where I indulged in french fries for the first time in, oh, probably months. Yum! We went to the Parkway to see Hellboy, which was pretty good but it was late enough, and the sofa, along with the pillows I'd brought from home, was comfy enough that I kept almost dozing off. Sigh. I'm not used to this getting sleepy early thing; thank god Wiscon is two timezones over, so I'm not crapping out at 11pm every night!

Saturday was a whirlwind of house cleaning, with some submission-sending-out thrown in for good measure. Glad to have both a clean house and movement on the submission front! Susan came over and we sort of joined our housemates in the backyard for their party, but eventually ended up inside where it was quieter and much warmer. It's always nice to hang out with Susan and we don't do it enough now that she's not around the corner any more.

Sunday we went out for lunch, and I had my first chicken sandwich since I was 16. Very, very tasty! I'd forgotten how substantial a sandwich could be! Afterwards we drove up to the hills until we found a trailhead, parked, got out, and hiked for 45 minutes. Really, now that we're walking and getting in better shape, we should be doing this every weekend. Next time, though, we should remember the camera.

Speaking of cameras, I'm doing that Word Photo thing (along with Jenn, Greg, Jon and Tim). I've only put up one so far, under tan, but it's damned cute. I brought the camera to work today but today's word is run, and my one idea for that involves stuff I have at home, of course. Ah well. This is really fun, though!

And, that's it for now. Well, I mean, I'm really happy about something, but I can't quite tell you about it yet. Soon, though!
