So close I can taste it

Yesterday I actually managed to hit 2000 words. Well, I managed to finish a chapter, and each one is supposed to be 2000 words. Who knows how long Chapter 24 really is? Currently, it's in handwritten form.

My right hand is *killing* me these days, writing all the time and doing beadwork. I take breaks, of course, but it's worrying. But I'm all weird about my writing and am sure I'll change the tone of my book if I start typing it in right now. In fact, past experience says this is so. At the moment nearly the last half of my book is handwritten (in two different notebooks no less); this is not counting the stuff I've already typed in. There's going to be some serious clerical work ahead, even after it's drafted.

Of course, it's going to have to be revised and hacked apart and put together again many times before it's done done, so I probably shouldn't worry about such things as tone. But since I get my writing done on the train, and I don't feel like lugging the laptop around all day for what amounts to 30 - 45 minutes of writing time, handwriting it is.

Anyway, I'm almost done with Chapter 25. Out of 30 total. Or 28 total, I'm not sure yet. But I'm so close I can taste the end, and it tastes like the platonic ideal of sweetness. Mmmm. I will definitely (knock on wood, god willing and the crick don' rise, etc) be done sometime next week. Unless I'm done sooner. I may race towards the end here any minute now. I'm contemplating an all-nighter, although that'd be foolish, what with the poor sleep this week already and the day job and all.

Anyway, that's my writing update. Ciao!
