Oof. Back to work. Man. Taking a bit of time to get readjusted to many parts of it (especially since I'm out of the loop on new products). My boss is taking very good care of me, though, and I feel very welcomed back/ appreciated, so it's definitely doing something good for me, ego-wise. River's been really good the few times I've worked from home so far, which is a relief.

Speaking of my favorite little guy, I put up River, week 19 pics over at Flickr. I went overboard this week, but it was a very cute week.

After an annoying but narratively boring bout with the surgery scheduler at the San Francisco Glaucoma Center, we finally have a sooner date for River's next surgery: next Wednesday, March 26th. I'm not looking forward to it, but if all goes well (they'll test the other eye they already did to see how it took, and hopefully do the other eye if it's cleared up enough), this should be the last one for a good long while (though they'll have to keep putting him under to test the pressure until he can hold still for it, whenever that'll be).

I think I forgot, in the whirlwind of stress of the past few weeks, to stop and thank everyone who commented here or sent email or called to support us during River's last surgery (not to mention the move and the numerous car mishaps). Thank you. It meant more than I can say to know that you were all out there thinking about the little guy and sending good thoughts his way. It made me feel less alone and very reassured to read/ hear about others who have gone through similar stressful moments and came through beautifully. It was the scariest thing I've ever been through. Thank you for being there for me.

If you don't mind, some good thoughts for River next Wednesday would help, too.
