River, weeks 47, 48, 49 & 50

A bunch of new River pics up over at Flickr.

Let's see, River's been walking for about three weeks now, which I guess I've mentioned. He's also got "Mama", "Dada", "River" (pronounced "Fi-vah"), "Ba ba" (means bottle) and "Kitty" (pronounced "Ki-dih" or "Dih-dih"). He will high five and wave sometimes (opens and closes his hand). He puts things in other things. He dances (bends his knees to the music while standing). He imitates the cats (very well!). He sat still during his last eye exam (the doctor said that he did as well as the older kids do!).

And, our favorite so far, he play bites. He came up to me while I was sitting on the couch and mouthed my leg, making the "chomp" noise I make when I pretend to nibble his toes or his knees. When Tim and I realized that he was playing, we started laughing with delight. When River realized that we got what he was doing, he squealed with laughter. It was such a cool moment of communication!

River's first birthday is coming up, two weeks from tomorrow on November 8th! This first year has gone SO FAST! For grandparents and anyone else who has the urge to get him something but doesn't know what to get, you can check out his Amazon Wishlist. Those are just suggestions, of course. He has a lot of age-appropriate toys right now (thank you, Craigslist), so I put a bunch of stuff for him when he's a bit older.

Oh, and, in my own news, I got a haircut. Heh. That's about the most exciting thing for me lately. Whoo!
