Traveling Dreams

Soon I'll be flying to KCMO to be with my son and his adorable family and then after a few days I'll fly to Portland, OR to be with my daughter and her adorable family and then after a week I'll fly back to KCMO to be with my adorable grandsons again while Julia and Chase go on a petite anniversary trip.

*****

Today was a busy busy day that ended delightfully at a beautiful local restaurant, Pearls, where I rendezvoused with several fabulous friends. All previous activities of the day had been eating events - eating most sumptuously - and there I was again at a restaurant known for fine dining. I chose a fine glass of wine before we ordered some incredible artisan cheeses with beautiful fresh fruits and a generous dollop of fig jam. We also ordered a potato crusted barrel of goat cheese which was accompanied with yummy accouterments. Everything was delicious, especially the company.

David made a cameo visit before dashing off for more TN Bar studying, and John Wolff a dear friend and former tenant and doctor in residence with a specialty in Internal Medicine regaled us with updates of his life.

While Sue and I were driving home we talked about travel. I'm starting to consider my upcoming itineraries as a test run for additional travel while my oxygen requirements are acceptable by the airlines. Places like Nepal, Aspen, Cuernavaca, and Santa Fe are off limits because of their altitude, but there are a zillion other amazing destinations to consider.

I found it interesting that Sue remembered my swooning stories of visiting Ireland and my second cousin who has an amazing home in County Cork in a small town called Banteer. In the past we've staged family reunions at Clonmeen, which is spacious enough to accommodate our clan.

The altitude would certainly be doable and I would love to return to Ireland a third time. Not only is Ireland the sod of my ancestors, the people are amazing and the countryside intoxicating. So, Sue and I are penciling in the idea of making this trip together. She's an ace when it comes to travel because she's been immersed in the industry forever. Besides, she's dear and wonderful and fun.

Though it was a long day, I'm tickled with all the possibilities life still has to offer. My dreams haven't been taken away from me yet.
