I had a nice Thanksgiving with my parents. We ate lots of food, watched some movies, played with the bunny, and relaxed with each other. I realized how thankful I was for such a loving family, even if we don't always agree, and for my incredible luck in life. I'm not a terribly religious guy, but I've always felt that something's looking over me.

But I'm most thankful for Janet, and the remarkable way that she's come into my life. She's the best thing to happen to me, and I feel so incredibly lucky that she's discovered enough in me to share her life. Even if she's on the exact other side of the world, she's always in my heart; there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her. Thank the gods for email.

And now to completely change the subject, Poetry magazine just received a one hundred million dollar gift from the heiress to the Eli Lilly fortune. Now if someone would only do that for a fiction journal...
