A cool Flash site has has been constructed for Star Trek: Nemesis, the new movie. I'm excited to see it, though the plot seems a little murky thus far. I've never seen a trailer that explains what the movie will be about, which probably wasn't very good planning by Paramount, but I went on the net and kept my eyes open. John Shirley has a review at Locus Online. I'm looking forward to seeing it. Yes, I admit, I'm a Star Trek geek. When my sister comes down from New York for Christmas, my whole family will go and watch it together.

In some really cool news, after reading Neil Gaiman's "October in the Chair" in the new Conjunctions, I got a burst of inspiration. His style in that story is one I've been wanting use, but hadn't known it yet. I started "Watersnake, Firesnake" yesterday at 1:00, stopped at 3:30 to go to the Reynolds Price reading at Quail Ridge, then started again at 5:30 and finished at 7:00. 2900 words altogether, and it turned out better than I thought it would. I'm very pleased with myself.
