We only got one to two inches of snow here last night, which was enough to cover the grass and make it look pretty outside, but not enough to freeze the roads and lock down the city. So I got up at 7:00, turned on the news, saw that I would indeed have to go in to work, and got ready. There were a few slick patches on the road, but on the whole it was clear sailing. So here I am at work again. Sigh.

My review of The Alchemist's Door by Lisa Goldstein is now up at GMR. It's not "officially" out until Sunday, but I figure if you're interested enough to be checking out this journal, the review might be something you'd like to look at now.

And Cory Doctorow has a new story up at Salon.com called "Liberation Spectrum". His last Salon story, "0wnz0red" is eligible for the Hugo Award this year.

This weekend is going to be a short story fixer-upper weekend. I need to get "Watersnake, Firesnake" ready to send out to Ellen Datlow at SciFiction, and I want to go over the second half of the first chapter of the novel and get it presentable as a short story (which will hereafter be called "Danza de los Duendes") for the Cup-a-Prose guys to look at for the next meeting. I have an idea of where I want to send "Duendes" when I finish it, but I won't reveal that yet. In the meantime, it's write, write, write. Wish me luck.
