Just a reminder that James Morrow is doing a reading tomorrow night on the NCSU campus as part of the Guy Owen Reading Series. He'll be in room 029 of Winston Hall at 7:30 p.m. If you're in the area, please come on down. There will also be a shindig afterward at the house of the young Dr. Kessel, which should be fun.

Morrow will also be speaking at my novel-writing class tonight, about the fantastic in fiction. After he does his thing, we'll critique my outline. I'm a little nervous, mostly because the last half of it isn't completely concretized yet, but out of all the outlines I've seen, it seems to have the most "story" in it. There don't seem to be any pretentious grad student novels in the class, but most of the plots I've seen are pretty thin. I have only seen the outlines though, so I leave myself open to be dazzled by prose and characterization.
