My appetite returned today with a vengeance. I was so hungry at lunchtime, even if I was still unable to eat all of what I normally eat. But I'm probably 85% there. I'm hoping to try and keep the weight off this time. When I got mono last year and also lost fifteen pounds (15 seems to be the magic number), I gained it all back over about three months. This time, I want to try and keep it off. If I'm not too tired, I'll go for a walk around the neighborhood when I get home. I don't want to start eating normally again and balloon back up. Jason likes the look of a trimmer face and gut, and wants to keep it that way.

If you haven't been over to Strange Horizons this week, check out Severna Park's story "The Island of Varos", which is illustrated by my wonderfully talented fiancée. She was working on the painting while I was in Singapore, and it's nice to see that it scanned really well.

After work yesterday, since I wasn't ready to go home to the empty apartment (I've been pretty bummed out for the past few days), I went and saw The Matrix: Reloaded again, mostly because they cut big chunks of the sex scene in Singapore, and I hadn't seen the trailer for Revolutions at the end of the (incredibly long) credits. I haven't really commented on the movie yet, since a lot of people have said what I thought, but I still do like it. The pacing is off, and they should have ended the movie when they were getting ready to break into the Source, and despite the incredible attention to detail the CG Neo in the battle with the legion of Smiths still looked a little too fake, but I thought it was incredibly ambitious. I also had to watch it a second time just to understand everything the Architect was saying, which I think I get now.

Afterward, I returned to my lonely apartment, watched a little tv, fixed a microwave enchilada, and went to bed early. I'm still pretty jet lagged, but I'm hoping it'll go away in the next day or so. At least I'm eating again.
