Three quick things:

Firstly, Breathe Right strips are freaking awesome. I bought a box at the store last night and put one of those suckers on my nose last night when I went to bed. I've been fighting a cold for about three weeks now, and occasionally I'd wake up with stalactites in my nostrils. But that didn't happen this morning. Woo hoo! It's supposed to help snoring as well, though Janet's told me I don't really do that (but she's not here at the moment anyway, so it really doesn't matter). I tell you, I feel much better this morning than I have in a while.

Secondly, Strange Horizons rejected a poem of mine this morning. Bleh.

Thirdly, if you're in the Raleigh area, my musician friend Kyler (who I've talked about occasionally in this journal) is having a CD release party tonight at the Lincoln Theatre in dowtown Raleigh at 9:00. Kyler's a New York singer/songwriter with whom I went to school at NCSU. She sent me her newest album, a flower grows in stone, for review in GMR and it just got here yesterday. I've listened to it all the way through four times already, and it's her strongest and most powerful album yet. Her songwriting, singing, and musicianship have never been better. It's an incredible album, and the photography that decorates it is just stunning. There's a $10 cover for the gig tonight, but it will so be worth it. Hope to see you there.
