In the mail yesterday came my financial aid cheque for the semester. What's more impressive is that it came on the first day of classes. Last year I had to wait a few weeks, or as long as a month, while dipping into the ol' savings account so I could pay my bills. But they were on the ball this year, and I'm grateful for that.

And today I made my first sale at my Amazon marketplace! (If you haven't yet, go take a peek at what I'm selling; everything is in new or very good condition (I take very good care of my books), all hardcovers or trade paperbacks, and I've priced things reasonably.) It's been nice to clear some space out of the apartment, and getting money allows us to, you know, eat and stuff.

The first two days of school went pretty well, and I was glad to see people I know in my classes. That's the nice advantage of being a second year M.A. student, seeing familiar faces and having an idea of what I'm getting into for the semester. My class this afternoon got out early, but I ended up staying until the time we would have gotten out because of talking to friends in the program.

My foreign language proficiency exam is tomorrow afternoon. Wish me bonne chance!
