Greetings from Lakewood

It was a long trip. The car broke down in a bad way in the shadow of Devil's Tower.

Wherein I discovered that certain portions of the Twilight Zone really do exist.

But now it's over.

And I once again have internet access.

And the whole lovely story is going to get told in vivid detail soon, very soon.

And I hated Lakewood for all of twelve hours. And then my wife and I stumbled into a lovely little Indian restaurant just around the corner from here that restored my faith in the midwest in general. Not only was the hummus fantastic, but our waiter made us feel much more at home AND filled us in on the fine points of the Cleveland mayoral race. Interesting stuff going on over here . . .if you call fear of strong powerful women interesting that is.

The culture shock is wearing off now.

This is a pretty damned decent little neighborhood after all.

Full story when my feet hurt less and my eyes aren't quite so strained.

Joseph Haines, signing off from The Edge of the Abyss.
