I took half a day off today and went to the Giants game at Pac Bell/SBC/AT&T park. It was a gorgeous day in San Francisco -- sunny, but not too hot, with a cool breeze coming off the bay.
The Padres struck early, and sadly, the Giants were not able to score more than three runs, so they went down in defeat, but the game did have an exciting moment. As Barry Bonds was on deck in the 8th, with the score 5-2, I told my friend, Bob, that Barry was going to launch #712. Bob said it would be nice if Winn would get on base. He didn't.

The count went full. And then...

Boom! A blast to dead center! Number 712! Oh, yeah!

Okay, so he took steroids. Or didn't. Lots of athletes have taken steroids. Maybe we should get past it.

It wasn't a busy day at work, at least, not much happened because I was gone.

There was only one guess (from this lovely lady)for the opening lines in the last entry, so I'm repeating them here. These are first lines to popular songs -- that is, you have probably heard each song on the radio, you didn't have to buy the album.

Some clues: The group that sings the first song has three members. If you were anywhere near a radio between 1974-78, you've definitely heard #2. And #3 is the first big hit from a very popular band who only put out three albums in their first ten years.

  1. When I woke up this morning, I was feeling mighty good.
  2. Woke up this morning with a wine glass in my hand.
  3. I looked out this morning, and the sun was gone.

I haven't written much in the past week, though. And I recheduled our Writer's Group meeting for next Monday (8th).

Don't worry, Jenny, I will have something by Monday. Promise!!!

The Kings made the Spurs earn it, but they're down 3-2, with Game 6 on Friday.

My allergies are KILLING ME!!!
