Reading PREY

I have started reading the Prey series again. Since this is the first year since the inception of the series that there is no new Prey book, and since they're being re-issued ina new paperback design, I've decided to go back and read them. And it's a good time for the decision, since I've read on more than one site that the Sandford books are the inpiration for many new thriller writers.

Progress!

Yes, I have been writing this week, if for no other reason than to keep Jenny from yelling at me. I am close to breaking past 30,000 words, the tentative midpoint of the novel, and I am almost done with Chapter 11.

So Long, Matt Hoffer

How many times did they say it? Song choice matters!

Okay, so for the first round there are fifteen people and fifteen songs and someone was going to draw YELLOW (Coldplay), which is an awesome song, and Matt Hoffer did an excellent job singing it.

But ... as we know from last season, contestants need to heed the advice of the band (and Dave Navarro, of course). What did they tell him? They said, more than once, choose something more ugly.

And Matt Hoffer chose DURAN DURAN?!?!?!?!?

Did he WANT to be sent home?

Personally, I thought either Magni "King of Iceland" or Chris "Don't try to do Sting" Pierson was going to be the first one out, but Chris redeemed himself by singing LA WOMAN, and Magni somehow managed to escape the BOTTOM 3.

It looks to be an incredible season, and I am already psyched for this show. And now I've got my son involved.

How about some of these women?
