I realize I may offend some people with this post. The annoying piece of music I am writing about is number one on the Billboard charts, so apparently there are a lot of people who like it.

Twenty-three years (approx) ago, there was a song called TAINTED LOVE by a group called SOFT CELL. There was no avoiding hearing this song. It played on the radio. It played at every party I went to. It played on TV. And everyone loved it. So long, it took me, for the song to die, and I could no longer hear it playing on that one track in my brain that is susceptible to earworms.

Now, a new signer named Rianna (who is likely a very nice person) has a song called SOS, whcih is basically the annoying beat from TAINTED LOVE with new lyrics. And everyone seems to love it, because it's #1. And my local station (that recently added synch-pop/psuedo-rap/hip hop to their playlist, plays it all the time.

And I CAN'T STOP HEARING IT. It's stuck, I can't get rid of it. I have to listen to other music all day, or SOS creeps back in there.

All I can say is ... WHY???!!!
