I have a new song playing in my head today. It's CRAZY by Gnarls Barkley. I heard it on the way in to work. It's a pretty good song. That other hideous piece of crap still pops up, but I'm doing what I can to not hear it. I don't have my CD player today.

RockStar: SuperNova

It's getting tougher to pick the Bottom 3. I really don't think there was a bad performance last night. And some DAMN good ones. Lots of the rockers are kicking it up and moving themselevs upward in the competition. Ben and I came up with our guess while watching the final two performers (LUKAS and TOBY). Once again, we went with Zayra and Jill, almost a given, even thought I thought they performed well. We thought Josh would be the third member, but it was Patrice again. I don't know what's up with that, because Patrice kicked ass. AGAIN! I'm going to try and send some votes her way.

Summary: (my grade / band's grade).

DILANA w/GILBY (We Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who): I am at a loss for words. Gilby is amazing. Dilana is phenomenal. This was by FAR the best perfromance I've seen on this show.(A+++ / A+++)

JILL (Mother, Mother - Tracy Bonham): Jill had the unfortunate luck of following Dilana and Gilby, but she did okay. Not great, but much better than last week. I like Jill. She's got a great voice and she's fun to watch, but I don't think she's going to last but a few more weeks.(B / B)

RYAN (Paint It Black - Stones): What in the hell was THAT???!!! Totally f*cking awesome! With this performance, Ryan has launched himself way up in the race.(A++ / A++)

STORM (We Are The Champions - Queen): I love this woman! Once again, Storm chose a ~lighter~ song, but it really gave her a chance to demontrate her range. I agree with the band and Dave -- if you can hold your own singing a Freddy Mercury song, you are awesome. Storm makes it six-for-six A++ performances. (A++ / A++)

ZAYRA (All The Young Dudes - Bowie, or Mott The Hoople): There's no denying Zayra has a good voice and good stage presence, and she's kinda sexy. But I think she's trying too hard to push the ~sexiness~ and not relying on her singing. Yes, Cathy, I do think that's why she hasn't gone home yet, but her time is running out.(C / C)

JOSH w/TOMMY (Interstate Love Song - STP): Good song. Good performance. You can't lose with Tommy behind you on drums. The show just gets better and better. but, sorry to say, Josh was just good, and I agree with Dave, probably not good enough.(C / C)

MAGNI "ICEMAN" (The Dolphins Cry - Live): Inspiring, as the band said. Magni is the biggest surprise for me. I think he's one of the front runners. He performs well, has an awesome voice, and he's just plain fun to watch. And his litte boy with the earmuffs was SO cute.(A / A)

PATRICE (Instant Karma - John Lennon): I don't give a sh*t what the voters say, Patrice rocks! She did an outstanding job on this song. She has a powerful voice and tremendous range. The band likes her, the crowd likes her. Everyone likes her. I need to give her some votes. Even though they think she's great, they can't ignore what the voters are saying. I hope she doesn't land in the Bottom Three.(A / A)

LUKAS (Creep - Radiohead): Lukas redeemed himself in a big way. I think he took last week's performance to heart, listened to the band, and looked inward. And the result was phenomenal. The band loved it,and I liked how Jason said, "That is what I've been trying to get you to do!" You could see it in Lukas's face how happy the band's praise made him. Awesome performance!!(A+ / A+)

TOBY (Burning Down The House - Talking Heads): Toby did a great job, but I agree with Dave, the megaphone didn't work. Good try, but no. He doesn't need it and shouldn't have used it. I think Toby is treading the middle ground. He started off strong, but he's staying the same or faltering when you consider how others are stepping it up.(C / B)

If any of you missed the show, go to the website and watch some of these performances. You especially need to see Dilana and Ryan and Storm. Hell, yuo need to watch 'em all.

I'm going to stick with my original prediction and say JOSH, ZAYRA, JILL will be the Bottom Three. Too hard to predict which of them will be dismissed. Could be JOSH, only because I think his time has run out and he hasn't really slammed it into high gear like some of the others have. Also, I think JILL and ZAYRA will be kept around just to see what they'll do next. And, well, they are hot.

Encore? I think Dilana w/Gilby, although she's done an encore already. Maybe Ryan or Lukas, but Ryan got it last week. I'm pretty sure Lukas got one earlier on. Hard to pick unless they pick someone who's had one. I think they have to.
