Opening Line of the Day: What song is this?
"She came from Providence, the one in Rhode Island."

Word of the Day:
jejune -- uninteresting and intellectually undemanding; lacking maturity or sophistication

There was a lot of discussion here on the blog as well as conversation with other fans of the show about the "Dilana thing." I'm glad it's now in the past. I believe that Dilana ws very sincere in her apologies and I feel that the other rockers have welcomed her back into the fold. It was great seeing her cheering on her fellow rockers during their performances, and seeing them cheer her on when she delivered yet another superb performance. I don't think the voters are going to stop supporting Dilana, and, as Tommy said: "What singer in rock music today hasn't said something wrong?" I'm glad it's over. And I'm glad Dilana is BACK and KICKING ASS!

Perhaps the only rocker that hasn't warmed yet could be Lukas. I was a bit surprised that he thought the fans picked LITHIUM for him because they want to see him "beat" Dilana. Much of the song voting happened before the Dilana thing, and of the four choices, LITHIUM is the song I'd have picked for him. And not because that was Dilana's first song.

We're just three weeks away from the finale of this thing. Damn, it seems like it just started doesn't it? Or is it me?

We bought our Supernova concert tickets! We'll be attending the Sacramento show on Feb 21, 2007. We got floor seats! How cool will that be? Gotta get earplugs for Ben.

Okay, on to the UPDATE. Yay! Now, I thought we've seen some awesome performances this season, but last night was un-freaking-believable! Everyone (and I do mean EVERYONE) kicked ass, nailed thier song, and raised the bar. Dave was right -- the voting will be difficult, because everyone was awesome. From this point, it all comes down to numbers.

Summary: (my grade / band's grade).

LUKAS (Lithium - Nirvana): The first of six astounding performances. Lukas nailed this one pretty well. He did justice to th song, and he wowed Jason, who has been the roughest on him.(A / A)

MAGNI (I Alone - Live): The Iceman started off his performance by asking for votes. Okay, this was fine. I took it as humorous (or at least tongue-in-cheek) and I think that's how he meant it. he's a good looking guy. The best looking? I dunno. But he NAILED, NAILED, NAILED this song. The band responded and so did the crowd.(A / A)

RYAN (Clocks - Coldplay): The Dark Horse delivered another stellar performance, starting off softly at the piano, then jumping on top of it, and maneuvering around the stage like he's benen doing it his whole life. Personally, I thought Jason was out to lunch with his comment. I'll side with Gilby and with the crowd.(A / B)

STORM (Bring Me To Life - Evanescence): Once again, I think Storm had a challenge before her. This is a difficult song, normally performed in a high range, and her voice is more deep and resonant. If this sounds familiar, it's only because Dave's comments echoed everything I said when Storm started to sing. I was worried for her, but halfway through, I knew I need not have. She did a great job, and having Toby behind her for the backing male vocal brought it all together. No, I don't think Toby stole some of the heat. Unlike Gilby, I will remember this perfromance. And I highly agree (and even said so at the beginning of her performance) that she deserves credit for attmpting yet another tough song. And ... she's just so dang HOT.(A+ / B)

TOBY (Rebel Yell - Billy Idol): WHAT ... THE ... HECK ... WAS ... THAT? It was outstanding, that's what it was. After backing up Storm, Toby took the stage and kept the show going with an ass-kicking rendition of this awesome song. The Amazing Aussie is having a great week, following his perfromance of the second Supernova single last week. It was fun to him putting cake in people's faces, too.(A / A)

DILANA (Mother, Mother - Tracy Bonham): What controversy? Once again, it proves true that this show really is about the music and the performances. Dave said this was his favorite performance over BOTH seasons. Cool! I thought Dilana nailed this one, just like she's nailed every freaking song she's done. This woman is a born star.(A++ / A++)

If any of you missed the show, go to the website and watch some of these performances.

Perform with Supernova: Maybe Storm (if they're doing girl, boy, girl, boy) or else Lukas.
Encore (if there is one: Toby
Bottom Three: Tought to call, but I'll say Storm, Ryan, Magni
Dismissed: I'm not going to guess, because I don't want to be right.
MY TOP 4 (in order): Dilana, Ryan, Toby, Storm
