  • How are we already halfway through August? I barely remember July starting.

  • Tomorrow is the big test. Early. In San Francisco.

  • I'm a little bit nervous.

  • The shit thing is ... I came down with an upper respiratory infection late Tuesday. I almost thought it would keep me out of the test. But I've got antibiotics, vitamins, juice. And I feel better this morning.

  • I find a lot of parallels between learning guitar and learning Matial Arts. One thing: If you're halfway through a form (or song), and you goof up, don't go back and try to recover. Rather, find where you should be and get there.

  • August has been horrible for writing. Enough said.

  • I did lose the weight I said I would. I'm down to 199. And I know all the forms. And I can do twenty more pushups than I could six months ago. So I'm ready, right? Right?

  • I'm a little bit nervous.

  • This could be very interesting.

  • I've been reading the Elvis Cole books, by Robert Crais. Almost caught up with the series. I went to Crais's signing a few weeks ago. Very inspiring.

  • Television has hit a new low. Now we have "reality" shows with actors playing themselves. Doesn't this violate anything? A last ditch effort to save their career. Celebrity has taken on a whole new meaning. And it has nothing to do with talent.

  • I'm a little bit nervous.

  • TRIVIA: Name the 80's group who had a song called I'M A LITTLE BIT NERVOUS
