First night away

This weekend, Marc had his first night away from us. Marcelo and I decided that we needed a little alone time, so we decided to go away for a night. We stayed at the Grand Californian at Disneyland and Marc spent the day and night with his Nana and Tata.

Marcelo and I had a wonderful time. :) The Grand Californian is a beautiful hotel. We'd been wanting to stay there for a long time, and we finally got our chance. We even got a free upgrade to a "park view" room. In true Disney style, they've thought of everything. When you check in, they give you a "credit card" that you can use to charge anything at the Disney resort & parks (restaurants, merchandise, whatever) to your room. You can even have stuff sent back to your room so you don't have to carry it around. Every room has a Pack & Play (a portable bed/playpen type thing). When we got back from dinner, we found they'd come in to turn down our bed.

After dinner, we spent awhile at the Wine Cellar and since I couldn't have any wine, I had to console myself with a chocolate dessert from the restaurant upstairs. ;)

When we got back the next day, the grandparents bragged that Marc hadn't even missed us. Of course, my one night that I could have slept great, and slept in, I woke up multiple times during the night worrying that he was crying for me. And then in the morning, I found that there's no way around the early wakeup conditioning. 7:15 appears to be the latest I can sleep anymore. It was a relief to get back and find that he hadn't cried at all. He slept in bed with them, so I'm sure that's what did it. He didn't have to wake up alone and cry out for me - there was already a warm body snuggling him.

I don't think we'll be doing it again anytime soon, but this weekend certainly was wonderful.
