Baby name help

Marcelo and I have already decided on Alexander for this baby's first name. Since Marcelo got to name Marc after himself and his great-grandfather, I get to choose this one. I could choose anything, but of course I've passed them all by him. We've got the baby's middle name narrowed down to James or Diego. Coincidentally, they're actually both the same name, just different language roots. I'm sure some of Marcelo's family will be calling him Alejandro, but we'll be calling him Alex.

So, my dilemma is this. Since Marc didn't get his "own" name, I want this baby to have a more original name. I want the name to fit into the flow of the family's names, but I want to recognize some of my heritage too.

Which combination do you think sounds better?
Alexander James or Alexander Diego?
