On Sunday night, we noticed this beautiful sight up in the sky:



It is the moon (lit by earthshine) with Venus and Jupiter.

Marcelo called up a friend of his who owns a telescope and last night we took the boys over to his house to look at the planets. It was really amazing! I'd never seen the moon so close up and I was able to see Jupiter and 4 of its moons.

The kids were terribly excited about it. When Alex saw the moon in the telescope, he pointed to the moon in the sky and excitedly told me that that was the mama moon, then pointed at the telescope and told me that was the baby moon. LOL

I could tell Marc was prepping himself for telling his friends and/or teacher about it this morning on the way to school because he kept asking us the name of the person who owns the telescope and asking if it was Venus and Jupiter.
