Our Canon A95 still camera has a rudimentary movie feature, but previous versions of iPhoto didn't recognize it. I just upgraded, so the movies are now off the camera and onto my hard drive.

So of course, I had to take more this morning.

What I like about both cell phone pictures and still camera movies is how low-tech they are. There are no settings, there's no tweaking anything to make the result better; point, click, that's it. Either you captured a moment or you didn't; there's no sound, no editing, the frame rate is very low, and the exposure and aperture settings are out of your hands. It's all about:

the moment.
