Self-reliance
My brain started dying after 45 minutes in the playpen, and the boys were entertaining themselves, so I grabbed EMERSON'S ESSAYS off the bookshelf, leafed to "Self-Reliance," and started reading it to them.
It's an incredible essay. Bombs went off every sentence or two. I was going to quote some of the choicer passages here.
