On and off for about 3 years, I have studied a Korean martial art named Hwa Rang Do. I have given a series of different excuses for not going, only half of which I believe are legitimate. The most recent excuse I've given myself is it was too hard to commute from Burbank to Downey after work and before class on the weekdays (and it was hard).
However, with all of the turmoil the company has undergone recently, I'm working near LAX two days a week, which is close to Downey. So I'm starting up again.
Last night was my first night back, we did weapon forms and I couldn't have been more grateful. Weapon Forms are rarely as phyiscally intensive as Unarmed Forms. I learned however, that Do Joo Nim (the creator of the art) is going to require every one to participate at an upcoming Hwa Rang Do tournament. *sigh* Looks like I better work pretty frickin' hard to get up to speed.
