Mood: Excited
|
2001-07-15 7:33 PM Persistance is key! With the help of my friend Scott, I just got mod_perl compiled as a DSO and included in my web conf, which means JournalScape is smokin! :)
ok, so it wasn't slow before, but if you had loaded it with 1000 users, it would have been. :) I doubt you really care what I'm babbling about, but I'm excited. Quick explanation: Normally, JournalScape has to connect to the database every single time you load or reload a page. That's an expensive operation! Especially if we have a bunch of users at once. With mod_perl however, we can connect to the database once and then use that connnection over and over again, which means JournalScape is MUCH faster! Woo! It gives a bunch of cooler things too, but I'm just going to cut it off there, since you probably don't really care anyway. :) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
