I hate the term "blog"

It's a shortened version of the term "weblog" used to describe an online journal. The reason I hate the term is because a "weblog" as very geek knows is a logfile that contains web site hit data (for example, an access_log created by Apache's httpd). So, it just kind of bugs me... I've tried to fight the term wherever I can.. it's a journal not a blog.

I just bought this book today....






*sigh* O'Reilly published a book called "Essential Blogging" .... ah well, there's no fighting it now. The largest publisher of geeky technology books has deemed it so.

Although, according to the definition of a "blog" in this book, JournalScape does not qualify due to architectual differences of how the entries are ordered and displayed... but most people usually ignore those kinds of differences and lump journals and blogs together.
