Sad-em vs. Suh-dahm

Bush says Saddam (as in Hussein) differently than everyone else in the world. Bush pronounces it "sad-em" and everyone else says "suh-dahm".

I heard a rumor that he does this because in Arabic the word pronounced "sad-em" means "begger" but "suh-dahm" means "god-like."

Now, I've heard the bit about "god-like" before and it doesn't suprise me... however, is our President actually, consciously, insulting him or is he just an idiot who can't speak?

Anyone who can corroborate or debunk this rumor, let me know. It's not like it will change anything, but I just want to know if I should downgrade the President from behaving like a 6 year old to behaving like a 4 year old.
