zzzzzzz... zzzzzzz... F@#%!!!!!!!
It was 4:30am.. gentle sleep had enveloped us... sweetly dreaming and then:
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Our fire alarm decided it was time to wake up. We freaked out, the cats freaked out, it was anarchy. I figured that maybe the battery was dying and it was letting us know. When I found it, I realized it didn't have a battery. It was permanently attached the electrical system in the apartment. So, I had no idea why it went off. We figured maybe there was a power surge or something and it wigged, so we went back to sleep.
5:00am... sleep has come once again after the adreniline has subsided... cats have returned to sleeping on ankles in the bed and then:
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Despite having just heard this 30 minutes earlier, this second one scared the bejezzus outta me. I was now a man on a mission. Find the tool box. Get a screw driver. Stop the madness.
I popped the clips that held it on the wall and unplugged everything I could find. It lies dead now on a bookcase. I'll be contacting the landlord to find out what the heck happened.
