John McCain thinks Iraq and Pakistan share a border
I heard about this via Juan Cole's blog, Informed Comment. It's one of the minor points, but it struck me as fairly important for the election:
McCain and the GOP keep trying to hit Obama on international relations and military service. They say he's not fit to lead in that sense.... but these accusations come from the other Presidential nominee who doesn't know the geography of the region. Nice.
I highly recommend reading Juan Cole's blog, he's incredibly knowledgeable about the culture, factions, history, language, etc of the Middle East. He also makes it a point to always reference news reports of how many soliders were killed this week. The rest of the media has stopped doing it, mostly because we get tired of hearing it over and over.... but it's still happening over and over and he doesn't want people to forget that.
