So yesterday, when I was over at nearby Descanso Gardens shooting panoramas for a virtual tour demo CD, I heard some planes overhead.

Five of them, flying in tight formation, emitted puffs of smoke in a carefully timed pattern to make the following huge, arcing skywriting display:

WWW.BOEING.COM/CAREERS (not yet completed in this composite photo).

Close-up of the WWW part of the URL.

Tres cool, no? When I looked up, they had just started writing. The part shown above had already faded by the time they started repeating the whole URL. I've never seen any kind of skywriting like this, only the sole plane trailing a single line of smoke. I don't know how many times they repeated the URL, but they laid it out in a huge curve, meant to be seen from somewhere southeast of me, apparently.

Spent the entire day at the gardens shooting, and then a couple hours post-processing. Spent twelve hours today in post as well, with removing shadows and people, and perfecting the images. Ended up with 20 gorgeous panos of the place. Too bad hardly anything sported blooms this time of year.

Now, must get the panos on a custom-printed CD and start sending them out. That's this week's goal.
