Before heading out of town and country for six weeks, a trip to our favorite doggy beach with a picnic lunch was called for.

We had to wait for the tide to go out a bit before we had room to play on the sand, but play we did. And shot some video tape of all the action as well.

We met some other doggies, and a juvenile seal lying on the rocks. At first he seemed unwell or injured, but later it flippered down to the water and swam away. Apparently it was just resting and sunning. See photos below.

Sparky makes the catch as friend Tewsy and Zero finally realize Shelley has thrown the disc.

Zero grabs the disc from the water's chilly grasp.

Sparky goes up for the grab!

Dopey baby seal who later swam away.

On the way back home we stopped at our usual ice cream parlour where I found a vibrantly colored flavor called cotten candy, to which the addition of pink and white animal cookies seemed only natural. And delicious!
