Despite playing World of Warcraft from midnight to 6:45 am this morning (after an evening of boardgaming), I managed to take second place in a Texas Hold 'Em poker tourney at the Writers' Guild of America this afternoon.

Larry, our Saturday-night gaming pal, invited us to try our luck there, so we took him up on it. Shelley got knocked out of the 40-some-person tourney very early, but played the good sport and stuck around to see me win a carousel of poker chips as the second-place prize. Plus she got to know another writer who also got bumped early, and connections are usually good things to have.

Poker ain't my favorite game, and I've never played this particular version before, but I enjoyed the time there and now that we're back, it's time for more WoW! See you online!
