As promised, my journal entries for Hawai'i are finally done. Each has four photos. Here are some additional ones that I wanted to share.

Those of you who subscribe to this journal (welcome, Lori!) will receive an e-mail with a link to each vacation post. Or just look at the seven entries for June 29 where you will find the Hawai'i stuff.

Anyone know what this is? It's about an inch across. Turns out that it's a man-of-war, a critter with very painful stingers, washed up here on a black-sand beach.

A pool of refreshing clear water felt good after about four days of not showering.

One of several huge banyon trees we met during our hikes.

Not sure what it's called, but I'd designate it fireflower!

The Mauna Loa macademia nut factory doesn't make it easy to choose, do they, Shelley?

We watched this guy waiting, waiting, and waiting for a turtle he spotted to get near shore. He forgot to watch behind him!

Purple bread! It's made of taro root. Taro chips are also purple. Perfect for the purple-people eater.

At $32 per pound, this chocolate would make you a happy camper too! (Don't ask how many pounds we bought :-)

Shelley finally got leid.

Aloha.
