Shelley's college roommate and her beau visited for the weekend, en route back to Texas after a conference in San Francisco.

We spent Saturday afternoon up at Mt. Wilson Observatory on a docent-led tour. Nothing new for us, because we've done it before, but it was Baby's First Scientific Establishment Visit. We had a picnic lunch up there and Zero got to have snow kicked in her face, as she loves to do.

The Meeplemobile performed flawlessly. Four adults, a baby, and two dogs couldn't slow it down on the multi-thousand foot climb, and it didn't even bottom out on our driveway! The XM radio also worked well all the way up and back, except on a couple few-second occasions when we got too close to a signal-blocking rock wall hugging the south side of the road.

In the evening we enjoyed a traditional cheese fondu, and much Hornesby's cider, with some introductory games for the company. I had an entire six-pack myself and maintained a strong buzz through much of the night. Haven't done that in quite some time. Didn't even have a headache the next day, though, so no harm done. We did learn that the fondu recipe does not scale up, however, when we doubled the ingredients.

This is the evil squirrel in charge of the place.
