Island Life Has Changed

At the moment it's pouring rain, so no shooting panoramas for a while, if at all. Yesterday I shot about 35, and am currently in my room checking them over and touching them up where required. Mostly we had good weather yesterday, and days like today are the reason this kind of project needs some padding! Had the days been reversed, I'd not have any photos at all to work with yet, so I'm grateful it worked out the way it did.

Aside from a new building or two at the lab, not much has changed. Except communications. It's just not the same island life with anytime Internet access and cell phones. It's strange, but one of the nice things about being out here was the lack of mainland communications, relying on letters, that sort of thing. On the other hand, of course it's great to be able to call home anytime, from anywhere on the island, as well as to be able to access the Internet for research and email. But nevertheless, the mystique has faded.

That being the case, I will cop to having played WoW last night. :-) And I plan to do so again tonight, as well as catch up on a month's email, especially given the weather's uncooperative attitude. If it does clear, I'll go reshoot a couple of suboptimal panoramas and perhaps even a few new ones.
