We arrived in Rochester last night about 9:15 pm after two very smooth plane flights. Baby did really well despite some fever (probably from teething) and being cramped in a plane for so long. Taking a stroller for her to ride in isn't necessary but I don't know what we'd do without it for loading our gear into so she can push it around the airport!

Shelley drove off to Albany until we rendezvous in Ithaca on Wednesday. The conference includes almost all meals, which is unusual, including lunch today for those already here for preconference workshops.

During lunch I looked out the windows and saw that it was gray, drizzling, and chilly: perfect weather for a walk about town in the afternoon. So I put on a fleecy and some hiking boots and strolled around for a while. Downtown's dead on a Sunday but I enjoyed being out walking in the not-sunny-and-seventy-five anyhow. Got see some nicely colored leaves too.

For entertainment they showed us the movie "Click" and served yummy things to go with it, including chocolate-dipped apple slices, candy bars, sodas, etc. They also offered a large tub of popcorn to serve yourself out of.

Two large tubs to either side of the popcorn contained cheese sauce and melted caramel, implying it was for the popcorn. I saw someone else actually put caramel on his popcorn (yuck!) but I put mine on the chocolate-covered apple slices (yum!).
