Much as I lament the loss of seasons here in sunny southern California, the climate does allow the growing of fresh veggies all year round. We're picking lettuce and other salad greens from our new border garden these days rather than putting the garden to bed in preparation for frost and snow as we would back east.

Last week's cold has persisted or morphed into a different one. Sunday found me completely drained and tired and lethargic, not at all usual, and it continues so far today although not quite as bad. The cold seemed to be about over on Friday but it had other ideas apparently and last night Mr. Fever came calling too. Sigh.

Not feeling like doing much of anything and (for a few days, not having Internet) got me started with watching HBO's Rome series. It's fantastic! Highly recommended on all accounts. You can rent season one from Netflix if you don't get HBO.

Our living salad bowl.

Shelley's long-term pineapple project is finally bearing fruit. Literally.

And her roses continue to blossom as well.
