Last time Mom visited for the Rose Parade a rain storm came along and foiled the effort, although we did go visit the floats after the parade despite the wet and wind.

This year we were able to procure tickets for reserved seats and parking nearby, and enjoyed the balmy morning as floats, equestrian units, and marching bands sauntered past on Colorado Avenue in downtown Pasadena. We ended up amongst a crowd of U. of Illinois fans who showed their enthusiasm and college spirit when their band came by and played.

Kelley had fun watching the spectacle, but even more enjoyment spotting the blimp, helicopters, and airplanes overhead throughout the day. She certainly liked the horses and would dance to the bands, but after three or four hours of them she was horsied-out, and her attention turned to visiting the large Pasadena City College campus reflecting pools, which she could see from the bleachers.

When we move back to Ithaca we'll have to find some other parades to attend; she likes them well enough to face the smaller crowds at those kinds of events.

Kelley enjoys the parade!

The tallest float in the parade, some eight stories tall!
