Back in January when interviewing at Cornell, they put me up at the Statler Hotel, a place we'd never roomed before. We looked into overnighting there one time before leaving Ithaca in '97 - just for fun - but its high prices just didn't seem reasonable to us. Anyway, here's the view from my room after the interview.

Just after snapping the sun going down my nice Nikon D70 decided to stop working! I had taken it primarily to shoot the house under consideration for purchase. But alas and alak!

Deciding that some photos would really be useful for Shelley to see, I ran over to the Cornell store and bought a rather small digitcal camera to take to the house visit. It's cute, and I've been wanting a pocket camera for a while, so I hope it works out given the snap decision to get it.

Anyway, the D70 went to the shop and is back now after a couple weeks away. Anyway, there aren't as many Kelley photos for January as there might be, even though I have the new small camera. I don't like shooting her with it as much as with the Nikon, and we've been really busy, but Flickr has her January photos up now (there are some February ones in here too; and there probably won't be a separate February batch).

The weather and lighting often combine for special moments in Ithaca.

And the sunsets bring it all home.
