Over the past two weeks or Kelley has grown quite fond of ladybugs and pillbugs, two sorts of critters in no short supply around the house. She's fascinating to watch with them, and fun. She likes to have them crawl around on her hand.

Our weekly Sunday open-house escape took us to the LA County Museum of Natural History today, to see their short-term, live-butterfly exhibit. Of course Kelley got into that, even without being allowed to hold them on her finger.

Edit: Forgot to mention that Kelley also loved the regular Discovery Center aquariums and terrariums with fish, snakes, tarantulas, giant centipedes, stick insects, turtles, etc.

It'll be fun when she can do that: we plan to have a flower garden in the new house in hopes of attracting some that she can handle. The place comes with two ornamental gardens so we should have a good head start on that plan.

We're planning to grow veggies too, but according to the current owners the topsoil isn't too deep around the house, although they had some brought in and dumped specifically for a small garden. We'll see whether it's big enough for us.

Only three sets of people came by for the open house, although one seemed serious and interested. The one canceled private showing from last week did come through yesterday, as did one other. We just need to get lucky with the right buyer.
