We left the house yesterday shortly after the movers finished packing the truck, after we drove Kelley home from daycare to see that the house had nothing left in it.

We made it about half way to Arizona on Friday. The cats in their crates howled most of their way, but the dogs didn't put up much of a fuss.

Today we drove across Arizona and found a hotel just inside New Mexico. Along the way we visited the Petrified Forest National Park to take a break and see some interesting stuff. I bought a nice piece of petrified wood: a cross section with bark. While in the shop I could not resist buying Kelley a park ranger outfit!

The cats continued to make a fuss during the drive, and Nimitz even wet his cage. Kelley's enjoying her DVD player.

The car-top carrier was definitely a good idea: keeps the light, bulky stuff out of the car and gives us a lot more room.

Pretty much our last view of LA.

Amazing petrified trees!
