Well.

We finally have an offer on the CA house.

It came in Friday night, 20% below our asking price, which we reduced by $50,000 last week.

At the same time we reduced the price, we put the place on the market for either a lease to own or a straight lease. Our agent at Century 21 will handle all the paperwork for those arrangements, and we don't particularly want to go that route but we may not have a choice. If we can rent it for what we want, it will cover the mortgage and all the expenses, including the C21 overhead, and will include some deposit toward the renter's down payment if they choose to exercise the to-own part in a year. At least we would not be paying two mortgages in that case.

Anyway, we're going to counter offer a little higher and see what happens. Our agent's a little concerned about some of the potential buyer's finances so they may not be able get their loan even if we agree on a price.

They have until noon Pacific on Tuesday to accept or reject the counter offer, and about another week to prove they have financing in order for this to work.

Here's to everything falling into place!

Sunset tonight.
