Read/Post Comments (8) "In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed." Kahlil Gibran |
2007-01-12 7:54 PM skinny...and ageless . is it really required? I am soooo sick of tv commercials. Seems like most of them are trying to sell me something to make me young or thin. Isn't it possible to belong to the human race without those two attributes?
I'm not thin..and I am, as Netta would say: "withered". I had my youth..I was once thin..maybe even pretty..but hell, nothing lasts forever. I like being "old". The lines in my face are a testament to the ups and downs of my life. The extra weight I carry says that I eat pretty good on a daily basis. I don't wear the latest styles...I wear what's comfortable. I figure I'm allowed for all those years I had to wear uniforms or high heels and dressy dresses. In "my day", we wouldn't even think of wearing jeans or even slacks to work. We didn't wear little halter tops that showed our bellies or shorts and skirts that showed our butt. I guess "style" is not what it used to be. I liked wearing hats and white gloves and stockings. I liked the idea of leaving a little to the imagination and covering up more than I was showing. But, that was then...and this is now. I suppose the older folks said the same things when our skirts rose to just below the knee and girls got their ears pierced at 16. Now they pierce everything! Oh well, each generation to their own I guess but I can't help but wonder what it will be like 20 years from now. Who knows..I might still be here and think of these as the good old days. :-) Read/Post Comments (8) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
