Read/Post Comments (4) "In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed." Kahlil Gibran |
2007-04-08 6:33 PM over...the end...fini... Siiiiiiiiiigh! That, my dear friends is the sigh of relief I heaved last night after the last performance of "Desperate Affections."
It was fun, but it was also time consuming...I don't think I'll do that again...not for a long time anyway. I think the last performance is always the best, the actors are familiar with all the lines and seem to feel more free to play around with it. Last night was no exception...it was a pretty relaxed performance until the second act when the actors discovered they had forgotten the handcuffs, a prop which is integral to the plot! Needless to say, I buried my head in my hands, but, to the actors credit, they managed to cover the faux pas and the audience was unaware. There were several other times the play didn't go exactly according to script, but they were all good performances and I am proud of both cast and crew. I should mention that the "crew" consisted of my second born son and his wife along with the eldest son who was also the lead actor. His girlfriend was the female lead. Talk about keeping it all in the family! The cast and crew presented me with a teddy bear (another important prop) and a lovely boquet of roses after the show. We toasted with champagne and kissed the play good bye. I am home now, bags unpacked, laundry done and animals properly greeted. Jeesh..you'd think I'd been gone forever..admittedly, it did seem that way towards the end. I have my own computer back on line...can't tell you how good that feels. It's hard to find time on another's computer, especially if there are 4 adults and a 10 year old kid trying to use it...or, 3 adults and a word mojo game on it. I have a new ISP now and hopefully my "glitches" are gone. Now I wanna go to each of your blogs and try to catch up to see where you all are...I've really missed the daily contact and it will be fun to see whats been goin on. That will be a little time consuming, so I may not make many comments til I catch up...but know that I will be reading. Right now I gotta go watch Amazing Race. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. see ya..... Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
