Bringing Up Baby, Part 4

Came home from work and fed the cats. Went out to grab a little dinner and came right home. It was time for the big Territory Exchange.

I lured Stella into the bedroom, not difficult, but she's beginning to see a pattern now. Opened the den door and called Maggie. Hesitant, but willing, she made it out into the hallway. Gave her a little congratulatory pet and backed up. After the hallway, she went into Stella's bathroom. Opened the bedroom door and Stella made a casual beeline for the den. Opened the bathroom door and Maggie checked out the bedroom. Closed the door and checked in on Stella. Etc. They were both slow and thorough. Stella was ready to leave the sanctuary before Maggie was ready to complete her exploration, but we're repeating this again tonight.

The entire time, I was slightly anxious. Like I was living "Ocean's Eleven" or "The Sting" or something. After everycat was in their respective places with lots of congratulatory pets and treats all around, I sat on the couch with Stella and discussed the event and my anxiety. "You could use some face smelling," she said.
